At its core, MSEM was founded with a vision to advance the field of endocrinology in Myanmar and foster the highest standards of patient care.

Honoring Professor Ko Ko: A Legacy of Leadership and Progress (2022 -2025)

The Myanmar Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism (MSEM) proudly recognize the exemplary leadership of Professor Ko Ko, whose presidency from 2022  to 2025 has marked a defining period of growth and transformation. As the fifth President of MSEM—established on March 15, 2008, to advance endocrine care in Myanmar—he has guided the society with vision, integrity, and a strong commitment to excellence, positioning it as a leading force in both national and regional medical communities.

During his tenure, Professor Ko Ko significantly elevated Myanmar’s presence on the global stage. A major milestone was the successful organization of the International Diabetes and Endocrinology Conference (IDEC) 2025, conducted in collaboration with the Myanmar Diabetes Association (MMDA). Under the theme Advancing Care in Endocrinology and Diabetes,” the conference brought together international experts and local professionals, fostering meaningful knowledge exchange. Furthermore, his leadership ensured active participation in prominent international platforms such as the ASEAN Federation of Endocrine Societies (AFES) Congress 2025, the Asia Pacific Bone Health Conference in Tokyo, and the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) 2025, strengthening Myanmar’s voice within the global scientific community.
